Park District Closures Continue

Published 6/2/2020

Hello Calumet Memorial Park District Community,

We are upon unprecedented times; not just within our community but in all communities across the country, and across the world. The Covid-19 pandemic, combined with the recent unfortunate events in Minneapolis, and subsequent lootings and riots has had devastating effects on all of our lives professionally, financially, spiritually, and socially. We here at the Calumet Memorial Park District would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. George Floyd. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. To the proud residents of Calumet City, The Village of Burnham, Unincorporated Dolton and South Holland, and all surrounding communities; we would like to say that we are still working hard to resume services to you and as news breaks and further guidelines are released from the State of Illinois and re progress through the different Phases of the Restore Illinois Plan, we too are and will continue to develop a comprehensive Re-Opening plan and strategy to not only reopen but to provide services to you all of heightened standards of quality and excellence. We will rebuild and overcome the current state of affairs that our community and communities beyond are facing. Now more than ever, it is important that we all unite and work together in reaching the common goal of humanity for all. The CMPD has been and will continue to be dedicated to contributing our part and more as we come back and with your support, more determinedly “PLAY WITH A PURPOSE!”

Executive Director,

Targett T. Johnson M.S./CPRP
