Calumet Memorial Park District Closures Extended

Published 3/31/2020

Calumet Memorial Park District will remain closed until further notice, as the Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that the state’s stay-at-home order will extend through April 30, 2020. The previous stay-at-home order was set to expire on April 7, 2020. The White House also announced that social distancing guidelines will be extended nationally through April 30, 2020.

Illinois residents are directed to stay home as much as possible during the stay-at-home order. While all non-essential businesses have been ordered to close, you may still go to the grocery store, gas station, pharmacy, and restaurants for take-out orders only.

If you are wondering if you can still go outside and enjoy the fresh air, the answer is yes! Practicing social distancing means avoiding close contact with people; it does not mean you have to stay inside. So go for a walk, ride a bike, take a jog, and exercise. Just remember to thoroughly wash your hands when you come back in. Stay safe!
